Abstract
Information exchange (IE) has received a lot of attention in the literature not only from the business side to improve the communication within the organization but also from the social side to build a better community. In this chapter, information exchange is defined as the acquisition and sharing of information among two or more stakeholders to improve the decision quality. Stakeholders are defined as “anything influencing or influenced by the firm” to include suppliers, employees, customers, governments, and competitors [Freeman (1984) as cited by Sharp et al. (1999, p. 387); Pouloudi and Whitley (1997)].
