Abstract
In this chapter, which is based upon the long-term experience of the author and his collaborators in comparison with literary data, an overview is given of the virological, bacteriological, and molecular biological methods that are used in the lifetime and postmortem diagnostics of different types of infectious brain lesions, including an interpretation of obtained findings.
