Abstract

Ten years ago, Bilateral axillo-breast approach (BABA) robotic thyroidectomy was first introduced at Seoul National University Hospital, and it has been used to treat many sort of benign and malignant thyroid diseases. Within 10 years, the oncological and clinical outcomes from many researchers have been reported to support the safety and feasibility of BABA robotic thyroidectomy. In this chapter, we describe the procedures of this approach, and review the updated evidences. The equipment, operating room (OR) setup, and surgical indications is also described. The updated evidences of technical, oncological outcomes will be followed.
