Abstract

Software Defined Networking (SDN) is an emerging technology that introduces a new design for networking. It decouples the hardware and the software for simplifying and hiding the management part of network elements. This technology has also an interesting impact for network security since it affords automation, convergence, etc. We can benefit from these SDN security features to deal with the scalability, the heterogeneity and the limited capacity challenges of Internet of Things (IoT). In addition, access control is a crucial security measure in IoT allowing only authorised things and users to access the network. The main contribution of this paper is a security reinforcement of our previous model CATMEC (Clustering Algorithm based on Trust Management and Edge Computing) which proposes a new SDN architecture based on trust management and access control for IoT. The trust value, calculated by the predefined trust management algorithm, is used to prevent malicious devices from accessing the network As well, Access control is based on Attribute-based access control (ABAC).
