Abstract

In this paper, we presented a new time domain method to analyze the transient response of transmission lines. This method first discretizes telegraph equations in domain time by difference, then establishes a first order differential equation with respect to space, next using the precise integration method to receive the transient response of the transmission lines. This is a semi analytic numerical method in domain time. This method has advantages of simple, accurate and efficient which can be used to analyze the transient response of the lossy transmission lines with nonlinear load efficiently. It also can be used to analyze transient response of power transmission lines and detect the fault location.
