Abstract

Digestive cancers represent a major public health problem because of their frequency. Throughout the world, digestive cancers represent almost one third of all cancers [16]. In France, colorectal cancer represents the most frequent type of cancers (men and women combined), approximately 33,000 new cases a year [2]. The other locations encountered are, in decreasing order of annual number of cases, cancer of the stomach (9,000), esophagus (5, 500), pancreas (3,100) and liver (1,900) [7].
