Résumé

Les tumeurs germinales malignes sont localisées dans le médiastin dans 1 % à 3 % des cas. Ces tumeurs correspondent à 50 % à 70 % des tumeurs germinales malignes extragonadiques, et à 13 % des tumeurs médiastinales dans leur ensemble (1). Les différents sous-types de tumeurs germinales malignes peuvent être retrouvés au niveau médiastinal, avec d’une part les tumeurs germinales non séminomateuses (carcinome embryonnaire, tumeur du sac vitellin, choriocarcinome, tumeur composite), et d’autre part les séminomes (1). Leurs aspects anatomopathologies sont similaires à ceux observés au niveau gonadique (1). Les tumeurs germinales non séminomateuses sont deux fois plus fréquentes au niveau médiastinal que les séminomes, alors qu’elles ne représentent que 55 % des tumeurs germinales gonadiques (1).
