Abstract

In a nuclear reactor an important source of noise is that induced by the random motion of structural components and internal disturbances. Two significant examples are the random motion, formation and collapse of steam bubbles in boiling water reactors and the random vibration of control rods and fuel elements in pressurized water reactor (Williams, 1974).
