Abstract
The quantum inverse scattering problem at fixed energy1 is solved in two steps. First the elastic differential scattering cross section is analysed by a minimization procedure2 to obtain a set of phase shifts. Then these phase shifts are used as input quantities by the inversion procedure to provide the optical potential. In this contribution we show that within the framework of the modified Newton-Sabatier method3,4 it is possibile to unify these two separate steps.
