The Use of the Antiarrhythmic Agents in the Elderly

  • Chapter
Aging and Drug Therapy

Abstract

Similar disturbances of cardiac rhythm occur in all ages, even if more frequently in the elderly .1, 2, 3 As a consequence, the diagnostic problems and the therapeutic principles concerning the etiology, the recognition, the quantification and the choice of treatment of cardiac arrhythmias are generally identical for young and old patients.
