Abstract
We present a single impulse source method to reconstruct two-dimensional variations in elastic materials with inhomogeneous density and elastic Lame parameters. For the case of seismic exploration, i.e., the scattering object is embedded in an elastic medium at some depth under the surface, the source and receivers are located on the surface above the object. For single impulse source, the receiver array will detect elastic wave traces scattering from the object at a series of receiving positions. The advantage of this data collection strategy is that we can obtain much more data from one pulse and there is no need to rotate the system.
