Abstract
The technique of recoil momentum spectroscopy as a tool to investigate the details of the kinematics of a many particle ionisation process is discussed. Measuring the recoil ion transverse momentum by time-of-flight technique and the recoil ion emission angle in coincidence with the scattered projectile final transverse momentum precise information on the sum momentum of all ejected electrons can be obtained. Furthermore it is discussed how Q-values and electron mass transfer affect the recoil longitudinal momentum. Recent data are presented.
