Determination of the Reservoir Permeability Coefficient by Temperature Measurements During the Start-Up of a Horizontal Well

Abstract

A joint mathematical model is proposed to describe thermohydrodynamic processes in an oil reservoir and a horizontal borehole. An inverse coefficient problem is formulated for estimating the filtration parameters of a reservoir. The sensitivity analysis of the model is carried out. Temperature change curves measured in different sections of the wellbore are used as initial information. A computational algorithm is proposed to determine the permeability coefficient along the horizontal wellbore and the inflow profile.
