Abstract

The structure of a compact X-ray source based on inverse Compton scattering and the beam dynamics in the linac and the storage ring is considered. The features of collective effects in the storage rings of such installations are studied in compaаrison with fourth-generation SR sources. The thresholds of longitudinal microwave instability and transverse instability of coupled modes are calculated.
