Abstract
This article describes the design of the protective heat shield for the Interhelio-Zond spacecraft, accepted for full-scale engineering development. The material proposed for making the shield’s parts is a carbon-carbon composite material (CCCM). The technology of making and mating of the CCCM shield parts is determined.
