Abstract

Using a counter for single photon correlations, the flashes of sonoluminescence and sonophotoluminescence of a 0.1 M aqueous solution of CeCl3 are separated by time. The lifetime of Ce3+ luminescence is determined by the correlation method as equal to 33 ns, which corresponds to the value measured by the traditional methods of time-resolved spectroscopy. The shape of the luminescence flash—namely, the exponential decay—is confirmed by numerical simualtion of the correlation function.
