Das ADHS wird häufig im Sinne einer Ko-Morbidität bei Kindern mit einem zerebralen Krampfleiden, insbesondere bei solchen mit therapierefraktären Anfällen beobachtet. Aufgrund der Annahme, dass Methylphenidat die Krampfschwelle bei Kindern mit zerebralen Krampfanfällen herabsetzt, wird diese Substanz Kindern, die gleichzeitig unter einem ADHS leiden, häufig vorenthalten.
