Samenvatting
De distale humerusfractuur wordt veelal benaderd met een osteotomie van het olecranon. Vervolgens wordt eerst het articulaire deel gereconstrueerd alvorens dit aan de schacht te fixeren. Dit artikel gaat dieper in op de olecranonsparende paratricipitalbenadering van de distale humerusfractuur. Tevens wordt een alternatieve manier van repositie en fixatie beschreven. Tot slot worden de functionele uitkomsten en complicaties beschreven bij patiënten met een communitieve intra-articulaire distale humerusfractuur, die met deze techniek zijn behandeld.
Abstract
Distal humeral fractures are frequently approached with an olecranon osteotomy. For the reduction and fixation of these fractures, the articular surface is commonly being reconstructed first. This manuscript elaborates on the paratricipital approach for distal humeral fractures. Additionally an alternative technique for reduction and fixation of distal humeral fractures is described. Finally, the functional outcome and complications in patients treated with this new approach and fixation technique are described.
