Toekomstvisie traumacentra binnen de ontwikkeling in het Nederlandse zorglandschap

Samenvatting

Binnen het snel veranderende Nederlandse zorglandschap staat ook de huidige traumachirurgische organisatie met de elf traumacentra onder druk. Kwaliteit/ kwantiteit-, kosten- en emotiegestuurde aspecten van deze visieontwikkeling spelen een rol bij de beroepsvereniging, het ministerie van Volksgezondheid, Welzijn en Sport (VWS) en zorgverzekeraars. Een eventuele reductie van het aantal traumacentra moet rationeel gestuurd worden op kwaliteit en kostenaspecten. De huidige organisatievorm dient voortgezet te worden met een verdere regionale centralisatie, inclusief een landelijke centrale registratie en bewaking van de kwaliteit van zorg.

Abstract

The organisation of the eleven Dutch level 1 trauma centers are under pressure within the rapid changing Dutch Health Care organisation. Quality/quantity, costs and emotion driven aspects are part of the vision development within the professional association, Health Department and health insurance companies. A reduction of the number of Dutch level I trauma centers has to be rational driven on quality and costs aspects. The current organisation has to be continued, where a further centralisation of polytrauma care within the regions has to be intensified with a national central registration and monitoring of the quality.
