Conclusion

Abstract

Aim

To analyze the impact of an adapted physical activity program performed among women with metastatic breast cancer, during treatment.

Methods

Controlled study (control group without activity “C” vs control group with physical activity “PA”).

Results

We mainly observed an increase in fatigue and a decrease in self-esteem for patients in group C, regarding the beginning versus the end of the study (38 vs 49; P = 0.046), whereas the level of these parameters remained constant for patients in the PA group (35 vs 37; P = 0.68).

Conclusion

This pilot study shows that physical activity during treatment has limited the deterioration of specific parameters, namely fatigue and self-esteem.
