Abstract
The problem of finding the effect of reflection from a dielectric slab on a profiled beam has been studied previously. The present work extends experimental verification to the visible region. A Gaussian -profiled laser beam is reflected from a thin glas slab and the spatial variation of the reflected light is recorded photoelectrically. Special attention is given to the location of the maxima in the reflected profiles. A comparison is made with recent theoretical calculations and good agreement is found.
