Résumé

Les auteurs rapportent 8 cas de cancer développé sur méga-œsophage.

Le diagnostic très tardif impose une surveillance régulière, radiographique et endoscopique, des mégaœsophages opérés, si l’œsophage ne retrouve pas, rapidement son calibre normal. Une intervention de Heller précoce et bien faite est la seule garantie pour éviter une cancérisation dont les résultats thérapeutiques sont décevants, la survie après traitement n’excédant pas un an.

Summary

8 cases of neoplasm developped on a mega-esophagus are related.

The usually late diagnosis requires a regular survey, by X-Rays and endoscopy, of any treated mega-esophagus, if the esophagus does not recover quickly his normal caliber. An early and well performed Heller’s procedure is the only hope to avoid a cancerization. Therapeutic results of these neoplasms are very poor. The survival after treatment does not exceed one year.
