Improving the wear resistance of press-mold stamp plates

  • Published:
Refractories Aims and scope

Conclusions

Welding of the edges of stamp plates for semidry pressing of refractories is a radical method of increasing the life of the molds. The use of the welded-on alloy of average hardness (42–50 HRC) for strengthening the edges of the stamp plates does not reduce the wear resistance of the facing plates. The welding of the stamp plates with powder wire PP-Kh12F1 using the newly developed technique increases their resistance 9–11 times.
