Summary
The thermal stability and resistance against proteolysis and reducing agents has been compared for the hemagglutinin and neuraminidase of four influenza A2 strains.
The recent A2/England/72 isolate was found to differ significantly from the parent A2/Hong Kong/68 strain. The A2/England/69 variant was, on the other hand, indistinguishable from the Hong Kong virus.
