Abstract

The problem of determining the dynamic force in a cable during laying on the sea floor is examined. A numerical model of the dynamics of laying a nonstretchable cable with consideration of the hydrodynamic loads is constructed on the basis of the Galerkin method. The effect of the depth of the sea, laying speed, and parameters of rolling of the ship on waves on the dynamic response factor was investigated under various operating conditions of the cable-laying complex. The time dependences of tension and length of the dangling section are given.
