Summary

A trial of four anti-depressant drugs is described. The patients were assessed at the end of the four weeks without the doctor knowing which drug the patient had been receiving.

In the series of in-patients treated, imipramine was found to be more effective than pheniprazine but not significantly different from phenelzine and phacetoperane.

No drug was as effective as other reports have indicated. Reasons for this are offered.
